M3 protesters released and
- warned to steer clear of site

Four men involved in the Save Tara protest, who spent a
week in jail after refusing to give a commitment to stay
away from the M3 construction site, walked from court
after agreeing to the bail conditions yesterday.
Two of them told the court they were signing the bonds
but "under protest".
A crowd of 40 supporters gathered outside the courthouse
in Navan yesterday in a show of support and solidarity
for the four men.
They are: John Fay, 56, Blackfriary, Trim; Daniel
Maloney, 29, Riverstown, Kilmessan, Co. Meath; Robert
Doherty, 52, Main Street, West End, Bundoran, Co. Donegal
and Andrew Rawling, 32, Dunbeacon, Bantry, Co. Cork. They
are charged with failing to comply with the directions of
a garda and interrupting the free passage of a vehicle on
July 18th. last.
The charges against Fay, Doherty and Rawlings related to
Tara, Lismullin, while the charge against Maloney related
to Blundelstown.
Fay, Doherty and Rawlings are also charged with offensive
conduct. Yesterday they signed the bail bonds subject to
two conditions.
They are not to interfere with or enter on to any
construction sites relating to the M3 and they are not to
interfere personally or through others with anyone
engaged in the M3 construction project.
