Insisting on M3 route
Dear sir - Like most road users, I know that a better
transport system is needed. The present N3 is out of
date, poorly planned and badly repaired. So what is
possible?
If most people want a toll road, fair enough... although
when you start paying twice to drive to Dublin and twice
back, you may think twice. Remember, this will be not a
public service motorway, but a commercial business that
will be taking your money forever.
The old railway line to Navan should be rebuilt to take
pressure off the roads and bypasses should be built
around Kells, Navan and Dunshaughlin, then the N3 can be
upgraded and the M50 interchange improved. There is only
one problem, the proposal to route the M3 toll road
through the Tara Skryne valley.
This will ensure long delays and high costs, which no one
wants. If another route is chosen, the protesters will go
away and the road can be built quicker and cheaper, so
why is the NRA insisting on it going through some of our
most precious heritage?
Yours sincerely,
