Digging deep - but Tara will be
the loser
FACT: the NRA has declared they intend to complete the
archaeology on the proposed route of the M3 within six
months to a year. There are 38 sites. There are 52 weeks
in a year. This is the most archaeologically sensitive
landscape in the country, if not in Europe.
Fact: the proposed Blundelstown interchange is as close
to the top of Tara as the existing N3. Go and see the
archaeological "digs" for yourself.
Fact: the National Museum advised against the use of
diggers. Why is best practice not being used in the most
archaeologically sensitive landscape in the country?
Fact: the proposed motorway would be tolled twice. How
much will it cost people to go to work? Who benefits from
these motorways and tolls?
Fact: The M50 is a car park. Why destroy Tara to reach a
car park faster?
Fact: There are viable alternative routes for this road.
Why were they not chosen?
Fact: NRA and Meath county council are using taxpayers'
money to produce propaganda against small voluntary
groups who have no public funding. How much does this PR
cost? Why are our groups not funded? Where is
democracy?
Fact: Oil is rising in price and will run out in 30
years. The road would be tolled for 30 years. People will
pay tolls for 30 years and get no benefit.
Why destroy Tara? Who would benefit?
