Cullen is on the wrong
track
Sir - A few weeks ago Bertie Ahern announced the revival
of the Easter Parade to celebrate the 100th. anniversary
of the Rising in 2016.
This was followed by last week's announcement of a
10-year transport strategy, including a new Metro line
that will run under O'Connell Street and a new Luas line
that will run past the GPO.
Given this Government's propensity for project over-runs,
it now looks like O'Connell Street will be unavailable
for the parade in 2016 because of transport works.
Is this another example of Martin Cullen's "joined-up
thinking?"
