Our bog body heritage
I would urge everyone to visit the National Museum in
Dublin to view the bog bodies that have recently gone on
display. In keeping with the major collections at the
Museum, the Iron Age men offer a fascinating insight into
our history.
Ironically, the more of our heritage we unearth, the
faster this government allows it to be ritually
sacrificed back into the ground again. Alas, how times
have changed; we no longer remove our leaders when they
are blemished and unfit for office.
Perhaps if we had interred Charlie Haughey - the Last of
the High Kings - at Tara, this Fianna Fáil-led
government would be less inclined to dig it all up.
