Don't believe the hype over Tara
motorway
IN reply to Maire Quilter's letter from the USA: Maire,
don't believe the hype generated by the anti-M3 lobby.
Tara is not going to be damaged by the new road - it's
further away from Tara than the existing route!
As for "When we, the descendants of displaced Irish,
visualise Ireland we see bright green, rolling hills,
standing stones, castles, rocky shores, and . . . Tara
the spiritual heart of Ireland", well top o' the mornin'
to ya Maire, but people actually live here, and we have
to get from A to B - so if that involves building a
highway further away from Tara than the existing road,
then be gob and be gorra, that's what we'll do!
Maybe we should all live in rafts somewhere off the
coast, in case we tread on something ancient, like the
land itself?
