M3 row . . .
Fiona Purcell claims that the M3 is a necessity for
anyone travelling from Meath to Dublin (Letters,
September 28th.).
As she writes from Drogheda, I wonder if she is au fait
with the situation. The motorway can go ahead and thus
magically improve the lives of Meath residents (they
hope) without destroying the Tara/Skryne valley
archaeology.
The word she needs is "re-route".
That's all that is required. Better routes were submitted
and no rational explanation has yet been proffered as to
why they were rejected.
