Celebs are right to highlight
Tara
In response to those who have been criticising Stuart
Townsend's actions, I must urge you to read the articles
published with the "offending" photos, or to view, for
example, the Tarawatch website.
Those of us who have been protesting do not question the
need for a motorway in the Meath area - we merely deplore
the chosen route.
Just 7 km needs to be rerouted to avoid the Tara area.
It's not just a motorway that will be built - more
development will follow, factories and anonymous housing
estates.
I grew up in Newbridge - a town that has been destroyed
by badly-planned development.
I cannot believe that our politicians will allow such a
disaster to happen in an area with such historic,
mythological and archeological value.
Even more unbelievable is the fact that the builders are
trying to rush through the destruction of these areas
knowing that court action is involved.
I only hope the powers-that-be see sense before our land,
our history, and a possible tourism highlight are
ruined.
