Road to nowhere
In attempting to denounce those concerned for the welfare
of the Tara Valley as "crazies" Dr. Mark Dooley is
off-beam.
He seems to spend more time deriding academics then
trying to put forward a cogent argument about the
double-tolled M3 motorway.
Dr. Dooley's seminar in Maynooth discusses the notion of
freedom. It's principle aim is "to locate the
philosophical source of freedom in the human
being...themes to be discussed include: freedom and
truth".
I suggest the learned doctor spend a little more time
researching the topic and a little less time trying to
scold literary greats such as Seamus Heaney. Perhaps then
he might get to the heart of the matter - that the road
is in the wrong place, carving up the Tara landscape and
placing a massive interchange at the foot of the
hill.
When it comes to truth perhaps Dr. Dooley would do well
to attend one of his own lectures.
