Plenty of respect for U2's
Bono
With regard to your article "You only care about Africa",
(Herald, Monday, 24th. March) I would like to set the
record straight.
I was asked to make a comment about the protester, Lisa
"Squeak" Feeney, who encased herself in a tunnel to
prevent the M3 work from continuing.
During the interview I was asked the question: "Why I
thought someone like Bono did not get involved with
trying to save the Hill of Tara and I said that maybe
heritage was not his thing".
"That to get behind a cause you must have a true passion
for that cause in the way that he does for issues like
Aids in Africa".
How does that turn into me blasting Bono? Who is it that
creates a title like "You only care about Africa".
I have a huge respect for Bono both as a humanitarian and
as an artist.
I do not expect Bono to be involved in every cause on
Earth.
