Disappearance of monument at
Tara
The disappearance of the monument that once honoured
those who fell at Tara in 1798 was reported (News, 27th.
April).
Perhaps it was removed by a group of embarrassed
government officials who couldn't stand to be reminded of
their part in desecrating the graves the monument
honoured. Is it a greater crime to remove the monument,
or to unearth the bodies of over 100 warriors for the
sake of shaving a few minutes off commute times? If the
gardaí need a lead, they need look no further than
the ongoing destruction works in the Tara-Skryne Valley,
and when the Wexford Pikers pile into buses to
investigate, may they head straight to Rath Lugh, where
the modern patriots defending against tyranny have been
illegally evicted from their sacred posts. Temair go
bragh!
